ISO 9001:2008 QMS is the latest version of quality management system standard. It specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to Demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory & regulatory requirements, and Address customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.


Organisation managers are forced to deal with quality and stability of its processes, its management and continual improvement to be able to satisfy customers’ requirements for acceptable price. One of the basic management tools for establishment and achievement of quality is a quality management system (QMS) according to ISO 9001.


Created by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO 9001:2000 is based on eight quality management principles: customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, fact based decision-making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. When fully adopted, these principles have been proven to enhance organizational performance.
